Saria by MistyTang Saria by MistyTang
Taking a little break to draw some kiddies. They're fast and fun~ Also they make for good relaxation. :)

Not too much to say about this one. I just wanted to do something with green. I rather like Saria even though we don't get to see much of her or do much with her. She's a cool sage~ And her temple was flippin' creepy.

I am so excited to see that you've drawn Saria! She's my absolute favourite from Ocarina of Time (which is why I cosplay her, and if you want to see photos, they are up in my gallery - I just need the ears to complete my cosplay of her [but said ears are so hard to find in person instead of online]).

I really think you've portrayed her perfectly. My only critique is that her undershirt and her headband are dark green (I'm fairly certain), but I know you did her this way because of the splash of colour idea, which is still lovely. I feel like she was one of the few characters that I really wanted to see more of from the series.

Oh yes I know that her undershirt and headband are a dark green. I chose the lighter green to be the singular color, which is why her normally darker clothing here is left lighter.

I'm glad you enjoy this one though! And I'll be sure to look for your cosplay.

Green = Best. I need to do more green pictures. This is again simply lovely work, I like how her eyes stand out and that potion actually looks delicious. You are right as well, her temple WAS creepy >_> Scarier than the shadow temple I think.

Green is a great color to work with~ I didn't get to do it very much here since I do basic flat colors for these pieces, but with green you get to do yellow highlights, which is always fun for me.
Yay! Someone agrees! It was way scarier than the Shadow Temple for me. The Shadow Temple was just a bunch of dead guys. The Forest Temple was a bunch of creepy mind games.

The yellow highlights must be why you get such beautiful warm shine in these flat coloured things. They really have a magical glow about them!

I think the Forest Temple was much more subtle. It also was the first time you get grabbed by a wall-master in the game. In the Shadow Temple you know what that sound is, you're expecting it, but I'll never forget the first time in Ocarina when that shadow appeared and suddenly a hand was grabbing me! Also the repetitive music that sounds almost like voices shouting words you can't wuite make out. CREEPY.

Aw, well thank you again! I love having that magical glow for my drawings. ;)

True! The music was a big part of the creepiness about that temple.
