Uh-oh. Misty might be planning a sequel. Mugshots for my own reference purposes.
Jasmine is my second favorite princess, Ariel is *zimeta08's second favorite, and Tiana is ~ratscout's second favorite. BUT Rapunzel is my brother ~shivan-dragon's favorite princess--had I been thinking about it before, I would have asked him who his favorite was before and included her in "Someday". (...only real men admit who their favorite Disney princess is.) And ~GrimReapette's and ~goldwater's first favorite princess is Jasmine.
And the finished piece:
Pencil and a little bit of CG to colorize. Jasmine, Ariel, Rapunzel, and Tiana (c) Disney Artwork (c) Meeeee.
Oh, really? You like my mugshot sketches best? Huh. Interesting! But no--at least not for these. These are just heads, no bodies exist. I don't sketch the whole picture like this, these are just preliminary mugshots for reference purposes for when I draw the actual figures. :^) I have, however, done coloring on rough pencils for other works. But not very often.
I actually have to agree with Nagymarci..these sketches are so living and it's also my favorite phase! they look better in the sketches that in the final product for me...although the final product in general is amazing! don't get me wrong!
Again, the features are beautifully defined. Now, don't get me wrong, I ADORE Disney and love the style of it, but I love your style as well. They're so vastly different and yet similar, and that's what I love about your work. You stay true to the characters and yet add your own style to them, without ruining the image that has already been set, which, especially with loved characters such as the Disney Princesses, is very difficult to do!
Kudos! And I'm going to look at all of your works now XDDD.
P.S. My favourites are ties between Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Kida, and Sally. (Sally was always my fave as a kid - I don't even know how many times I watched NBC XDD)
The lines are really living like this.
Have you ever considered skipping the cleanup phase, and just jump to coloring?
