Fat Dave and Little Squishy

The is having a creativity contest, where you create a new hero and sidekick for a pseudo Disney film. Fat Dave here is someone who frequents my notes for school and such, and I figured he was long overdue for a properly finished illustration.

Initially Fat Dave was just going to stay as someone who I would draw when I was bored. But then I loved him too much and had to look into his story. So, of course now he's gonna have his own little comic--it's looking to be just a short thing, like maybe 50-100 pages (maximum). We'll see how it continues to develop. (I'm thinking of jumping into Fat Dave's little fairy tale when I'm done with TWT).
I might explore a couple other characters from Fat Dave's story through this creativity contest. It'd be a lot of fun~ This one was a ton of fun. I really loved finally getting some color onto Fat Dave. Tried a few new things with this one too, very happy with it!!

I love Fat Dave. He's a complete sweetie. He's a shy soft-spoken blacksmith with a soft spot for little animals (like Little Squishy) and butterflies.

Fat Dave's story is very much a simple fairy tale. There's Fat Dave, a simple blacksmith. Brynn, the lovely potions master. And a Dark Lord who's up to no good, kidnapping potion masters for mysterious reasons (no, it's not for marriage or anything like that). Fat Dave can't say two words to Brynn; he just adores her too much. He does business with her so not being able to properly speak makes things difficult. Brynn is aware of Fat Dave's feelings (it's very obvious really), but she's a very patient lady so she's giving him time to articulate them.
I'm calling it, Larger than Life.
